Does Typography Standard replace WCAG testing?

No. Typography Standard evaluates font files against TS 2.0. WCAG evaluates digital experiences that use those fonts, including size, zoom, and color contrast.

What is the Il1 rule?

The Il1 rule checks whether capital I, lowercase l, and digit 1 are visually distinct. Typography Standard treats this as a mandatory ambiguity gate (TS2-AMB-001).

Is a Typography Standard certificate a legal accessibility guarantee?

No. Reports and certificates record the outcome of a defined font-file test. They are not legal advice and do not certify WCAG, ADA, or Section 508 compliance of a website or product.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may process: font files you upload for analysis; analysis results and report metadata; payment and billing details processed by our payment provider when you purchase a published report or certificate; technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timing) needed to operate and secure the site; and information you voluntarily provide (for example email when contacting us).

How we use it

We use this information to run font analysis, deliver reports and certificates, improve the Service, prevent abuse, process payments, and communicate about your requests. We do not sell your personal information.

Font uploads and deletion

Uploaded font file bytes are deleted after analysis. The report retains measured results, evidence, methodology version, and a cryptographic file hash identifying the exact file tested. Treat uploads as confidential to your project: only upload files you are authorized to analyze. Do not upload secrets or unrelated personal data inside font files or filenames.

We may share data with service providers who help us host, process payments, or operate the Service, under obligations to protect it. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Retention

Font file bytes are not retained after analysis. Report records (scores, evidence, hash, methodology version) are retained as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Published (paid) certificate archives may be retained for integrity and verification. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period for security and reliability. You may request deletion of personal data where applicable law allows.
